I feel so upset now. If you've been reading the news, you would know about the five national dragon boaters from Singapore who drowned in Cambodia in a recent competition. Reuben Kee, Stephen Loh, Poh Boon San, Chee Wei Cheng & Jeremy Goh.
My brother's in dragonboating. And Reuben and Weicheng are his friends, Weicheng is even a good friend of his. My mum told me that they talk about saving money and planning for their future, that it just hurts me so much to know that this sort of thing happened. I can't believe this. Just because they didn't wear a life jacket, 5 lives were lost just like that?
I look at my brother, and I feel so upset inside. I mean you can tell that he is so, so... I don't know how to describe it. I've never seen him so down before. It's so much worse to know that this tragedy happened on my birthday, when I was in Sentosa enjoying myself. And when I went for my family dinner I had no idea the extent of the seriousness of the situation. I could tell my brother was so troubled, but he still put a smile on his face for me.
I can't even describe properly how I'm feeling now, I hate this so much. Why the hell do such things happen to the most undeserving people?! Oh my god, this sucks. Their poor families. I just can't imagine what it's like for them. May they rest in peace up there, I'll most certainly be praying for them. And, thank god my brother is safe.
