I'm finally home

Back from CCAAB at last! Hahaha I realised I have been spelling it wrongly as CCABB. Anyway, CCAAB was no doubt tiring, but very fun too, and I made new friends, and became closer to Isabelle. All of us got sorted into 8 different groups, mine's Baden-Powell. My coolio group memberz - Amanda Tan, Crystal Wong, Darren Seah, Eleanor Pang, Jack Choo, Jeanette Justin, Manfred Lim, Marc Khoo, Marvyn Hoi, Meng Jung, Michelle Law, Nicholas Yin, Verrell Tan, Wei Jie, Wei Lin, Yin Ling.

Okay basically for me, the first day was terrible cause I got into this group, where I only knew Meng Jung (aka Isabelle for me) but I was hardly close to her. So like, I was like some big loner for the first two days of camp you know, kinda sad ): Never in my life had I felt so alone before. Even during my OG days I had Krystle for the first day and Justine for the rest. Honestly I felt miserable. Not only was it hard for me to warm up to strangers, I thought the guys talked about weird stuff and like the girls had weird accents and I thought I could never click with them at all. So I rarely opened my mouth at all, even though Marvyn & I got appointed as Group i/c for the first day I did such a poor job. Hahahhaa. I can't lead a team when I don't even know the people, that's me. I guess I've to change that part about my leading style!

Oh yah we were made to lineup in order of our age on this log, and coolioz, Marvyn & I have the same birthday! Haha we were the youngest in the team, can't believe there weren't any December babies.

First day of CCAAB, Friday 2 November 2007
Barely talked, was so sad I didn't manage to get into the same team as Andy, Carey, Elvin, Eugene, Jennifer, Jeremy, Kenneth, Nicholas Ang etc. We played situational games. One of which one member of the team had to walk through a constantly-changing minefield of items, blindfolded, with instructions from the rest of the team. It was quite funny especially when Ms Lim Chan Chin lay on the floor posing like a statue, haha! She's so cute, and a really really good mentor! I'm so glad we had her, and Mr Mark Ng too.

Then we got divided into different groups of sportsmen and peforming arts people where we were given different scenarios involving a team problem, and we were supposed to tell the teacher how we, as leaders of the CCA, are gonna solve the problem. I think Marc and Darren's answers were really very good, they put things in perspective.

We played this game where we were supposed to remove this tire from a tall pole, without anyone or anything touching it. So the guys carried MJ & Jeanette since they are the tallest girls there, and we did it with integrity yay (: Then we played Spider Web, the game where all members have to get through the web to the other side without touching the ropes. Wow we actually took one whole hour. But that was also the time when we really first started bonding better, or at least, I talked slightly more during that game and felt happier after that. After that we all climbed up this high wall, the ones like the army boys climb. And another game involving swinging to a square area using a rope, and that's where Darren got rope burns and couldn't participate in quite a few of the activities over the next few days.

Second day, Saturday 3 November 2007
We got to play all the height games. Absailing, Zipline (Flying Fox), Rock Climbing, Rope Course & Challenge Pole. Oh yah physical training the morning was killer for me. We did pushups situps all and then we ran for about 45 minutes. We were made to run in step, which means everyone running on the same foot at the same time.

Absailing was alright. I didn't dare to lift my legs up after I sat on the harness at first, until my teammates started cheering for me. Thank god for my awesome members (: Zipline was so superduper scary because the beginning part was totally like free fall, I was so terrified that my scream got stuck in my throat halfway. Rock climbing was rather fun, but a pity I didn't go very far. ): Only Marc & Marvyn managed to clear the course. I love belaying, I feel in control, and at the same time I know that I have my teammates to back me up in case I screw up anything. Rope course, Crystal Eleanor Jeanette & I did the log course where we walked on 2 logs to the other side in the air. Challenge Pole, it was really scary standing on the top of the log, shaking somemore. But I'm glad I managed to touch the suspended bar! (: (: (:

Crystal and Michelle had some problems on that day, because of fear of heights and other stuff. But I'm proud of them for being able to still complete the activity in the end. Crystal was so brave! And Michelle for having the tenacity to stay on that pole for probably one hour because she didn't want to give up.

Night walk at night! Walked through Bukit Timah Nature Reserve forest in the dark so it seemed quite scary, but it was soooooooo fun! The teachers had a hilarious conversation on the walkie talkie and that gave us solid good entertainment. We had this solo walk alone to the end of the station, and I was so scared when this guy just ran past me at a forkpath, I thought he was a ghost! He ended up being a student volunteer. Haha.

YOU KNOW I'M VERY TIRED, BUT I JUST COULDN'T RESIST BLOGGING. IT'S LIKE ALMOST 2AM ALREADY, AND I HAVE WORK TOMORROW. I'LL CONTINUE TOMORROW BYE.

I just came back from Holland V with Amanda, Eleanor, Jack, Jeanette, Marc, Marvyn, Nicholas, Wei Jie, Wei Lin & Yin Ling. We went to Hagen Das to chill, played Truth Or Dare. Haha. I cabbed back home and my mum was furious because I disappointed her by having the guts to go for supper and reach home so late. I knew my mum was unhappy but I still went ahead. I know she thinks I'm in major lack of time management but I think the outing was worth it. But my mood was still affected and I became emo, again. Because I always looked dead and sad during the camp all my group members have labelled me Emo Kid, but I'm totally not, right.

P.S. I didn't say a lot about my feelings during all the debriefs in the camps because I was really uncomfortable about unloading my personal thoughts in front of strangers, but if anyone of you read my blog, this is what you get, my real feelings. I know I'm draggy, hah but my blog what, I also read okay. Hah, byeee.

XOXO
